Historia’s premier scholarly institution. One is just as likely to find a Knight of the Order of the Prism within a shadowed corner of a library as a lost and forgotten tomb. Those of the Order believes Amaunator’s golden light must be shared through learning and discovery.

Publicagenda

The Order strives to better the world by sharing their discoveries and inventions with the citizens, and government, of Historia. The Order is known to sponsor libraries, schools, as well as archaeological expeditions. Their discoveries are not all freely accessible, as some are deemed to dangerous to allow into public hands.

A covered lantern has no use and will surely soon be snuffed out. Let it light the darkness, but be cautious of what you may find.

Culture

The Order promotes collaboration and communication. It has been proven time and again that the even the humblest discovery can lead to profound revelations. Members of the Order are encouraged to include lower ranks in their studies and explorations. Mentorship is a key tenet and a good scholar knows one must never forget the fundamentals. A common practice sees the lowest ranking members propose a discussion topic, with the higher ranking members only supporting and gently moderating the debate. Many find listening to the bright young minds an enlightening experience.

Origins

The Order of the Prism, not in name but function, existed shortly after the founding of Historia. Following the Great Flood there was an urgent need to preserve and reclaim knowledge lost in the catastrophe. The clerics of Amaunator took the duty upon themselves and began to part the shadows. Over time, the Order of the Prism was ratified as a sect of the Church of the Golden Sun.

Alena Sokoloa’s Scholastic Axioms

Without obstruction, a ray of light continues straightly, unbent until it reaches its conclusion. The method of one’s scholarly pursuits shall be like the ray. The brightness of a flame is relative to the illumination of its surroundings. Amaunator’s light outshines all others. Knowledge is the flame that must be preserved. It needs innovation to fuel it and freedom to burn
