The Third Pillar of Historia, The First Knights Charge, Wielder of the Gauntlet, The Tireless Blade, Duke of Eastrise, Binder of the Blackroot, First of His Name, 19th reigning Monarch of Historia, the ruler of Historia is the moral leader of the people. The Rex Probus is considered the most devout follower of Helm and is the head of the Historia Military, traditionally leading the soldiers into battle, and even has a hand in training the city guard, the Unsleeping Hands. Through their actions alone the Rex Probus is expected to keep the peoples and institutions of Historia accountable to themselves and each other. As such, when a criminal is declared Noxium it is considered a direct failing of the Rex Probus’ station and is the reason the ruler must be present at any execution at the Cleansing Vessel.
